Fixie Dust’s started with a personal quest. ✨

Hi, we're Derek and Sara. Fixie Dust began as our quest to stay sharp —and fight off the constant brain fog—while raising two toddlers and running separate companies at the same time.

The spark struck during a family trip to Scotland while wandering through the Pixie Glen on the Isle of Skye. Sara joked about not believing in pixies—then promptly slipped down a mossy hill as if she’d been nudged. That playful “maybe it was pixies!” moment gave us our name (and like, our whole vibe).

To us, Fixie Dust is a magical nudge—the idea that with the right mix of wonder and science, we can unlock focus, clarity, and energy again. Right now, that nudge starts with the best science-backed, expert-approved content on brain health, mental clarity, and longevity. Soon, it’ll expand into a product you can hold in your hand—think grown-up Pixy Stix for focus, attention, and energy (more on that soon).

Oh—also this mission is especially personal because Derek’s mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, turning brain health into an obsession (and urgency). That's part of why we pledge 1% of all future profits to Alzheimer’s and dementia research.

Beyond our personal story, we bring over 15 years of experience building trusted health and wellness brands with a fun twist (like Greatist), and we collaborate with doctors, neuroscientists, and registered dietitians to create medically reviewed content with every fact cited by a scientific study on brain health.
